How do I work with security? What information do I need from the pilot location in order to issue a security token?

We would create the subscription-Id and that will be provided to you through Fortellis.io. Please review the attached link in order to obtain your token. Most of the Fortellis ISV’s use the Client Credential Flow. https://docs.fortellis.io/docs/tutorials/solution-integration/auth/
