I have just spent a few hours getting my demo web site to work with the Implicit OAuth 2.0 flow (https://oauth.net/2/grant-types/implicit/). It was a very quick integration. The first thing had to do was change my registered application on the Fortellis platform using the Developer Account option to set the Callback URL. In my case this was originally http://localhost:5000 (for testing) which I later changed to https://demoapps.fortellis.io/list-n-... more

LISA’S “EVENTING” EXPERIENCE
In a past role at CDK, I provided DMS systems support to customers. Here is an example of one particular use case that might better explain how eventing could be used within Fortellis. How do I publish my API on Fortellis?
To add a new API to the Fortellis platform you must first publish it. Publishing an API involved creating a Swagger 2.0 specification for your API and submitting it to Fortellis for review. Let's walkthrough that process.
The first thing you need is to be a registered Fortellis user and to be logged in to the Developer Network.

Calls to Fortellis APIs need to be authenticated. To access anything other than test data, you will need to supply an OAuth access token.
OAuth tokens can be acquired through various different flows, depending on the use case. This post will demonstrate the implicit flow, which is intended for use by apps who don't have any means of protecting their client secret. In practice, this usually means single page web apps (i.e. apps with no backend server) and native iOS or Android apps. In all these cases, the source code is discoverable by the user so any included secret would be... more
As a developers we like to see how to interact with an API. We want to know how requests to the API look. We want to see what kind of responses we will be receiving back and what parameters are expected and required. For this reason all of the APIs on the Fortellis Automotive Commerce Exchange allow you to try them out. In just a few minutes and a few short steps you can be sending requests and receiving responses to available APIs right from the Fortellis Developer Network site.
