How to reset your Fortellis Application Secret
  1. Launch Internet browser – Chrome or Microsoft Edge
  2. Navigate to Fortellis.io
  3. Login with your registered Fortellis.io username and password.
  4. Once logged in, you will automatically land with-in the “Developer Account” page.
    1. If not, simply hover over your name (upper right corner after login to Fortellis.io) and click on “Developer Account”.
  5. From the Developer Account page, find your application and click on the application name.
    1. You will be redirected to view several sections/details of your application.
  6. Now that you’re within the application details page, scroll down and find the “Credentials” section.
  7. In the Credentials section, you will find a hyperlink, “Generate New Secret”.
  8. Click on this link and you will receive a prompt confirming your request to generate a new Secret.
  9. After a few seconds, a new Secret will be generated and with the existing API Key and new API Secret, you can immediately start using the combination to generate Bearer/JWT tokens.
  10. Please repeat the “Generate New Secret” step for each of your Fortellis applications, if you have multiple Fortellis applications.
  11. Finally, as a reminder, please update your application code with the new Fortellis Application “Secret”.
